Johannesburg to the Greater Kruger is a long day on the road. The choice between private and shared is less about budget than about arrival time, party size and how the day is structured.

Plan for a long day door to door, including comfort stops. Guests arriving on an overnight long-haul are tired before they start, and a fixed shuttle departure can mean either a rushed connection or a long airport wait.
A private transfer leaves when your client is ready, routes directly, and can absorb a delayed inbound flight. That is what the premium buys — not a better vehicle.
Rough guidance we give agents when they ask.
Most private reserves close their gates in the late afternoon and will not admit a vehicle after dark. That deadline, not the flight, is what we plan backwards from. If the arrival cannot make the gate, we say so and propose a Johannesburg overnight or a light-aircraft leg instead of quietly quoting a transfer that cannot work.
Rates on the corridor are indicative until we have the date and direction. Every request is confirmed in writing by an operator.
